Week 3 Update (27/4/20)
Hi Year 6!
Hope you are all keeping well still. I’ve managed to speak to some of you or your parents on the phone and if I haven’t been able to get through, then I’ve left a message. Thank you so much for your emails; it’s been great to see what you have been up to. Next week, I will add to our class page some of that work you have been sending me.
Below are a few more ideas to add to the learning menu that you may be interesting in doing:
English: Some of you have probably missed some SPaG work so here is game you may want to have a go at:
Remember to keep up with your reading. Maybe, some of you would like to email some of the vocabulary you have learnt or a short summary of the book? You could even write a book review or come up with ten questions (with answers) just like Accelerated Reader.
Maths: As a follow up to the work on angles, here is a link to some further work. Watch the video and pause it where necessary. Some of you may want to do this with adult support. Then complete the worksheets when the video tells you to.
Don’t forget to keep practising those multiplication tables. If you haven’t asked for your log in details then send me an email.
‘Hit the button’ is also another great way of learning other essential number facts:
History: You have already completed some excellent work about the Normans/Battle of Hastings but below are a few ideas and videos that may be of interest:
Find out about the different shields that were used in the Battle of Hastings. Make a poster about the information that you find out or even make a shield.
Find out 10 facts about the Doomsday Book and present the information in a way of your choosing. How about in a PowerPoint?
Please don’t hesitate to ask for extra things to do or work that would benefit you specifically. Again, my email is .
Hope to see some of you on our ‘Zoom’ online meeting on Wednesday, 1.30pm: I’m really looking forward to it!
Dear Parents, Carers and Children,
I hope you are all well and have had an enjoyable Easter holiday. It has been really great to hear what you have been doing through emails and through the Facebook page. On this page, you will find our menu of activities for this term. Our topic for this half term is about William the Conqueror and the significance The Battle of Hastings/Norman conquest has had as an important part of our history. As I hope you will see from the menu, this project gives a lot of opportunities for interesting research and creative activities. The activities are organised into subject areas and, where appropriate, I have tried to include web links to provide information, activities and, I hope, inspiration. I really hope that the children will find the activities enjoyable and useful. As always with home learning, if an activity is proving particularly difficult for whatever reason, please move on to something else – home learning should be as enjoyable as possible!
Good luck with everything and please feel free to contact me on email@example.com if you have any questions.
My best wishes to you and all of your families, stay safe and enjoy the sun!
