Home Learning Ideas and Advice - Foundation Page
We would like to offer some possible suggestions with activities and ideas to help support you and your children over the coming weeks. Please find enclosed in your packs ideas and sheets such as the phonics sounds we have covered so far. We will then have a ‘Home Learning’ section available to you for each class on the school website where you will be able to find possible links to useful websites and regular updates. If you do not have access to the internet or a tablet or computer, please let the school know so that we can support your child’s learning in another format.
We are very fortunate in Reception class to also have the ability to communicate via Tapestry online. So please look out for messages, updates and possible learning resources being made available to you on there. It would be fantastic to see any observations and messages that you would like to send to us too. So please feel free to send us any messages, even if your child would just like to say hello to us! If you have any concerns or questions, then please contact us on the following email addresses and we will reply to you as swiftly as possible.

Miss Hernandez: firstname.lastname@example.org
We have now covered all of the sounds which we would learn in Reception class, which is fantastic. Please find the sheets enclosed which detail all of the new sounds that we have learned, new tricky words and a sheet of useful words to practise with your children. We would now be recapping all of our sounds and practising lots of blending. So please look out for our updates on the website or Tapestry suggesting ideas on how to continue with their phonics and writing progress. www.oxfordowl.co.uk have a range of eBooks for different ages and abilities, which are all free to you. So that is a great resource to use to continue with your child’s regular reading progress. You are all already reading lots of books to your children at bedtime, but this is also a great way for your child to hear lots of different types of stories.
